Time and place
The 8th European Veterans Table Tennis Championships (EVC) will take place from 15th to 20th June, 2009 in Poreč, Croatia.

Eligibility
The EVC is opened to all players who are 40 years of age and more or who will be 40 during the year the event takes place (born 1969 or earlier). This also includes participants who will be 40 during the course of the months after the event is scheduled (i.e. June until December 2009).

Event categories
The following categories will form part of the championships:

     40 – 49 years (born 1969 or before)
     50 – 59 years (born 1959 or before)
     60 – 64 years (born 1949 or before)
     65 – 69 years (born 1944 or before)
     70 – 74 years (born 1939 or before)
     75 – 79 years (born 1934 or before)
     80 – 84 years (born 1929 or before)
     Over 85 years (born 1924 or before)

Each player has to participate in his own event category. Exceptions will be made for doubles, when players do not belong to the same event category. In such cases, the pair will participate in the event category of the younger player.

Championship categories
The following competitions will be played in each category:

     Women’s and Men’s singles
     Women’s and Men’s doubles

Playing system
Information about the playing system is to be found  in Chapter K. 10 of the ETTU-regulations (European Veterans Championships)

Maximum number of participants
A maximum number of 2.500 players will be allowed to participate in the EVC 2009 to be held in Poreč. Registration of players will only take place upon receipt of the full entry fee payment. Adjudication of entry place will be handled on a ”first come, first served“ basis.

Vacancies will be filled with names from the waiting list; those moving up will receive an invoice and the entry fee is due immediately. The amount of the entry fee is determined by the date registration is received. After April 15th 2009 neither participants, nor those to move up, will be accepted.

Practice possibilities
Practice possibilities are on Saturday June 13th, 2009 from 15:00 to 18:00 o´clock as well as on Sunday May 14th, 2009 from 9:00 to 18: o´clock in the Halls (except in Hall 4).

Daily Entry tickets
Tickets for spectators to the EVC will only be sold on the day at the cash desk at a price of 7,00 EUR. Entry tickets are day passes with free seating and are valid for all halls where the matches are played.

Opening Ceremony
The Opening Ceremony is scheduled for Sunday May 14th, 2009 at 19:00 o´clock in the Hall 4. All accredidated players and accompanying persons will receive free entry upon presentation of their personal accreditation. All other interested spectators have to pay the amount of 5,00 EUR.
