Poreč and sport
Poreč has gradually developed, due to its mild climate even in the coldest period of the year, into an interesting tourist destination having numerous sport events. Domestic and foreign athletes as well as clubs have preparations there before big domestic and international sport competitions. European Veteran Table Tennis Championships will take place in 4 different halls:
1.Sport hall „Diamant“, hotel complex Valamar
2.Sport hall   „Intersport Centar“, hotel complex Plava laguna. It is interesting to say that Plava laguna became in July 2001 the first Croatian tourist complex as a member of the Olympic pool of the Croatian National Olympic Committee.
3.Sport hall „Veli Jože“
4.Sport hall „Žatika“. This handball hall shall be used for opening and closing ceremonies of the EVC 2009, its construction shall be completed before the beginning of the World Handball Championship 2009 (January 2009).
