Dear friends,

For the first time Croatia will be guest of Table Tennis European Veterans Championships.
Two years ago Rotterdam saw a new record in participation (over 2000 competitors) and this is a huge heritage that Poreč organizers took on charge with the aim to do better and better, if possible, than their skilled Dutch colleagues.
The beautiful Poreč will be the meeting point of the European Veterans during one week in June 2009 and will expect the best athletes of Europe which will compete and present the high level of masters sport in Europe.
I do welcome all athletes, coaches, accompanying  persons  as well as the

officials and I take the opportunity to wish them all exciting and successful days in Croatia.
Sincere thank to the organisers who did their very best to present conditions and facilities which will make these Championships an unforgettable event.
Good luck and have a nice time in Poreč!

ETTU President

Dear friends,

last twenty years Croatia has undoubtedly become very visible on table tennis map of Europe, because of many fine sport results and great number of supreme table tennis events organised in perfect manner. Normally, such tradition gives us any right to be very proud of our achievements and in same time to promise you another top table tennis event in Porec, 2009. City of Porec, ancient historic Istrian town, known as perfect summer holiday resort, has undoubtedly become very visible on European tourist map. At the same time Porec is well known as a city very supportive towards sport,

organising top events in different sports. Combination of these two, above mentioned facts, gives a perfect stage for European Veterans Table Tennis Championships 2009, an event with expected more then two thousand players of different age; an event with every day raising importance. Therefore, let me be extremely happy for having opportunity to invite all members of our table tennis family to attend this biggest European veteran’s table tennis performance. Let us make together the festival of table tennis and friendships in Porec 2009.

President of EVTTC 2009 Organising Committee

Welcome to the Website of the 8. European Veterans Table Tennis Championships 2009 in Poreč.
On this site you will be informed about the developments of the largest table tennis event that shall take place in Croatia in 2009.

Dear sport friends,

The town of Poreč and County Istria are pleased to be the hosts of the European Veterans Championship 2009.
The 8th European Veterans Table Tennis Championship will take place in Poreč, Croatia, from Monday 15.06.2009 to Saturday 20.06.2009.
Poreč, with its 17,000 inhabitants is a place with ideal professional conditions for preparation trainings of many professional sport associations such as football, handball, tennis and table tennis. This was the reason Town Poreč was elected as one of the hosts of the World Handball Championships that will take place in the year 2009 in Croatia.
Without any doubts, Poreč is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Croatia. No other Croatian town has won so many tourist awards and recognitions. Every year, during the winter months, the town is preparing for the summer months, so the tourists can enjoy its full splendour.
Fortunately, the traces of past centuries were not erased in Poreč. These traces are fully visible in the old town core. The luxurious town palaces host the galleries, museums, but also numerous families live there, as they did in the past centuries. This gives the town a special charm.
You can walk through the streets and lanes of the old town which date back to the ancient Roman times. A part of the old city walls and the towers are still preserved. The Euphrasy's Basilica has been opened to public since 2000 as the church museum and the architectural monument. The location for the sport events is beautiful, the facilities to relax are available in many places, and we, the organizers will do our very best to organize the European Championship to the highest standard.

We will welcome you with open arms.

Yours sincerely
the Organization Committee
